Singapore Performing Arts Festival (SPAF 2022) Results – Category: Public Speaking

Over the weekend (23 July 2022), results for the Public Speaking Category for SPAF 2022 was announced. This is one of the most challenging category in the festival as the criteria for achieving a ‘Gold Award’ is extremely high. This year, 18 of our students from J Carter Centre for Public Speaking participate in the festival in both Class 1 (Ages 8-10) and Class 2 (Ages 11-12) of the Public Speaking category.

Gold Award for Verse Speaking – Gloria Leong

Introducing our student Gloria Leong. At SPAF 2020 Gloria recited a poem titled ‘Shadow Collector’. She performed very well and was given a Gold Award. This is the second year Gloria has participated in SPAF. Last year, she achieved Gold Awards in Verse Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, and Storytelling. Congratulations Gloria, we are so proud of you.

Gold Award in Verse Speaking – Ved Patel

The Gold Awards keep coming! Here is another Gold Award achiever for Verse Speaking. He is Ved Patel and he is in a rush to recite his poem, ‘Rushing’. Ved participated in SPAF 2020 for the very first time and achieved wonderful results. We are all so proud of him!

Zheng Qi Yue Joyce-Gold Award Public Speaking

We are so excited to share with you another Gold Award achiever at SPAF 2020 for public speaking from J Carter Centre. Congratulations to Zheng Qi Yue Joyce. Listen to her speech about TEACHING GRANDPARENTS TO USE SOCIAL MEDIA. Well done Joyce we are very proud of you!

Emma Quek – GOLD AWARDS Storytelling and Verse Speaking

Congratulations to Emma Quek for achieving a double Gold at SPAF 2020. Emma has come a long way from a very shy child to a confident young lady. From someone who refuses to speak in front of an audience to one who is entertaining with an ability to ‘Wow’ her audience.

Prinaka Lala GOLD AWARD-Storytelling

Congratulations to our student Prinaka Lala for achieving a Gold Award for storytelling at SPAF 2020. We are so proud of her. Listen to her spectacular story – ‘How the leopard got its spots’. Prinaka is a very entertaining storyteller and we know you will enjoy listening to her story.

Sarah Ting – GOLD AWARD Public Speaking

We are excited to announce that Sarah Ting has achieved a Gold Award for Public Speaking at SPAF 2020. We are very proud of her as Sarah is someone who is rather shy and has to put in extra effort to speak confidently in front of an audience. Thank you Sarah for your hard work. Thomas Ting – GOLD AWARDS Public Speaking and Verse Speaking
